Child Abuse in Lesbian Households

The Huffington Post has an article that is sure to infuriate the Religious Reich: “Child Abuse Rate At Zero Percent In Lesbian Households, New Report Finds.” The atricle notes that:

The paper found that none of the 78 NLLFS adolescents reports having ever been physically or sexually abused by a parent or other caregiver. This contrasts with 26 percent of American adolescents who report parent or caregiver physical abuse and 8.3 percent who report sexual abuse.

So, apparently those crazy lesbians make good moms. It’s lucky for the children, though, that many states have laws banning adoption by same-sex couples. Far better to be sexually abused than to be raised by gays!

Is it that simple? How many male children raised in such environments will grow up effeminate or morally weak because there was no father to model themselves after? My father used to mildly spank me in order to teach me discipline. That would be probably be considered child abuse by today’s left-liberal society. I don’t know what the science will show about children raised in single family or no-father homes but I would be heavy that those kids are massively disadvantaged. This Huffpo piece (and why is an Objectivist citing the Huffington Post?) strikes me as feminist, leftist propaganda aimed at attacking men and tarring them as useless. Its more of the feminist, gay assault at masculinity and anything that so much as hints as a traditional moral virtue (not all traditional morality was bad).

This finding isn’t as interesting anymore since we stopped child abuse by changing our Facebook profile pictures last week.

@Chris: That’s true!

@D. Bandler: First, I go wherever the news takes me. It’s not hard to see bias and to pick the facts out of it. Second, there is no evidence that not having a male and female role model for a child will damage them. Would you suggest that kids from single parent households are similarly disadvantaged? Were you consistent, you would. Frankly, your comments suggest that what’s offensive to you is the fact that they’re gay and I don’t have any tolerance for hatred of people due to non-moral properties.
