No Light in Darkness

I don’t often advertise for other people and their projects, but, once in a while, one comes along that’s so good there’s nothing I can do but want to share it with people.

My friend Joe Bloom just released his new album called “No Light in Darkness” and it is wonderful.  Joe is the singer, songwriter, and plays the guitar on the album.  What I like so much about it, besides the music itself, is that it has actual lyrics that not only make sense in the context of the song, but are well written and insightful.  For example, one of my favorite lines in any song I’ve ever heard is in the song “All is Darkness, Ain’t No Light” on this album: “No one’s safe from misery who searches for his soul outside himself.”

Usually I hate to find out the lyrics to a song I like, knowing that they will be asinine and will make me hate the song. The lyrics on this album are so good they could be poetry. If you’re on the fence about whether to get this album, GET IT. You won’t regret it.

I’m looking forward to the next album.

If you’re too cheap to support Joe and buy the album, you can also listen to it free on http://nolightindarkness.com/
